ComzAfrica ‘ s growth ambitions have and will come through organic expansion of its digital lending and payments platform which provides value added services to its partners that include utility companies, telecommunication companies and digital lending operators. ComzAfrica intends to extend the reach of its platform to 25 African countries within the next 3 years. This objective will be achieved through partnership with service providers and financial institutions. Once a partnership is finalized, the technical team will ensure that it delivers the integration between ComzAfrica and the partner. The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) will be responsible for shaping and executing the company's commercial strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals. This role involves leading the sales and marketing team, driving revenue growth, enhancing customer relationships, and expanding market presence. The CCO will drive commercial transformation while ensuring scalability, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Specific Skills
Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial leadership roles, with proven experience in market expansion and customer relationship management.
  • Strong background in sales, marketing, and customer satisfaction.
  • Experience in implementing commercial governance frameworks and compliance strategies.
Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in sales and marketing platforms (CRM, ERP).
  • Strong understanding of market analysis and customer relationship management.
  • Experience with enterprise systems, databases, and digital marketing practices.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial principles and risk management.
Leadership & Soft Skills:
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align commercial initiatives with business objectives.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
 
Responsibilities & Duties
Commercial Strategy & Leadership:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy aligned with business objectives. Implement sales and marketing initiatives to enhance revenue growth and market share. Ensuring commercial investments delivers business value and competitive advantage. Foster innovation and continuous improvement within the commercial team
Market Expansion:
  • Oversee the expansion into new markets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and reliability. Enhance market presence, scalability, and customer satisfaction through strategic partnerships. Evaluate emerging market trends and implement the best practices for market expansion.
Strategic Planning (in Collaboration with the CEO):
  • Work closely with the CEO to develop and execute the company’s strategic vision. Provide commercial insights and guidance on key business decisions and partnerships. Identify commercial risks and opportunities and propose strategies to enhance growth and profitability.
Internal Process & Efficiency:
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely commercial reports, including sales forecasts, market analysis, and customer feedback. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and commercial reporting standards. Manage year-end audit processes and maintain transparent commercial records.
Customer Relationship Management:
  • Implement robust customer relationship management practices for sales and marketing processes. Develop and maintain a centralized knowledge base for customer and market information. Ensure customer feedback is continuously updated and accessible. Primarily, develop and maintain high-touch relationships with ComzAfrica ’s partners.
Reporting & Data-Driven Decision Making:
  • Improve internal reporting structures, ensuring real-time access to key business insights. Standardize data collection, storage, and analytics to support decision-making. Implement automated reporting tools to track performance and operational efficiency.
Process Maturity & Governance:
  • Develop a roadmap for process maturity, ensuring scalability and sustainability. Establish commercial governance frameworks to ensure compliance and risk mitigation. Monitor and continuously improve commercial service delivery standards.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  1. Commercial Strategy Execution:
    • Completion of market expansion and customer acquisition milestones.
    • Alignment of commercial strategy with business models.
  2. Market Presence & Customer Satisfaction:
    • Market share and customer satisfaction metrics.
    • Reduction in customer churns through effective relationship management.
    • Customer feedback and loyalty scores.
  3. Process Efficiency & Automation:
    • Develop and implement a clear internal commercial process.
    • Improvement in internal workflow efficiency.
    • Reduction in operational downtime and errors.
  4. Customer Relationship Management:
    • Completeness and accessibility of customer information.
    • Frequency of updates and revisions to customer data.
    • Team adoption and usage of customer relationship management processes.
  5. Reporting & Data Analytics Improvements:
    • Implementation and utilization of real-time reporting dashboards.
    • Accuracy and timeliness of business intelligence reports.
    • Availability of daily reports for the utilization of other business functions.
  6. Process Maturity & Governance:
    • Design and implement commercial governance and compliance standards.
    • Define and plan for a commercial maturity capability model.
  7. Team Performance & Development:
    • Employee engagement and retention rates.
    • Skill development and training completion rates.
    • Feedback from internal stakeholders on commercial support effectiveness.
   
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field.
