The Distributions Senior Officer is responsible for leading the strategy, management, and optimization of the bank's distribution channels for retail banking products and services. This role focuses on ensuring that customers have access to the bank's services through various channels, including branches, ATMs, digital platforms, and third-party partnerships. The Senior Officer will play a key role in driving customer acquisition, enhancing the customer experience, and ensuring alignment with the bank’s retail and digital banking strategy.

Specific Skills
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in retail banking, digital banking, or channel management, with a proven track record of developing and managing distribution strategies.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong knowledge of retail banking products and services.
    • Experience with digital banking platforms, fintech integrations, and traditional banking channels (branches, ATMs).
    • Strategic thinking and the ability to develop and execute long-term distribution strategies.
    • Strong leadership and people management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across various levels.
    • Proficient in data analysis, with the ability to interpret performance metrics and use insights to drive improvements.
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to banking distribution channels.
Responsibilities & Duties
  • Channel Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive distribution channel strategy to support the bank’s retail banking goals. This includes optimizing branch networks, ATMs, digital platforms, and agency banking networks.
  • Channel Management: Oversee the day-to-day management of all distribution channels, ensuring they meet the needs of the bank’s customers and are aligned with the bank’s strategic objectives. Monitor channel performance and make improvements where necessary.
  • Digital Transformation: Lead the digital banking transformation efforts, ensuring that the bank's digital channels (mobile banking, internet banking, apps) are accessible, user-friendly, and secure. Work closely with IT and product teams to enhance digital offerings.
  • Customer Acquisition & Retention: Drive customer acquisition and retention strategies through the optimization of distribution channels. Ensure that each channel is utilized effectively to provide convenient access to banking services for customers.
  • Third-Party Partnerships: Establish and manage partnerships with third-party service providers (e.g., fintech companies, agents, and retail partners) to expand the bank’s reach and distribution capacity.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track and report on the performance of all distribution channels. Develop KPIs and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of each channel and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Customer Experience Enhancement: Ensure that the customer experience across all distribution channels is seamless and consistent. Collaborate with the customer service and product teams to address customer feedback and implement enhancements.
  • Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure that all distribution channels operate in full compliance with the bank’s policies and regulatory requirements. Identify and mitigate risks associated with channel operations, such as fraud or cybersecurity risks.
  • Market Trends & Innovation: Stay up-to-date with market trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in retail and digital banking distribution. Proactively recommend innovative solutions to improve the bank’s distribution network.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including marketing, product development, IT, and operations, to ensure that distribution channels support the launch of new products and services and that customers are effectively engaged.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., Digital Banking, Distribution Management) would be an added advantage
