About The Job

The Executive Advisor to the CEO is responsible for supporting the CEO in end-to-end strategy
implementation by providing advisory in important strategic planning aspects of AgDF, including
operational activities to achieve the Fund’s strategic priorities. This role is also responsible for project
management within AgDF.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Facilitate strategy implementation support to the CEO and act as a liaison between the CEO and other departments.
  • Ensure alignment of department strategies with organizational goals and oversee their timely execution.
  • Manage specific key performance indicators and measures against outcomes detailed in the strategic plan.
  • Implement the annual strategy and transformation operations as approved, including any special tasks or projects requested by management as appropriate.
  • Coordinate the process of formulating and implementing the short-, medium- and long-term plans for the functional teams.
  • Provide guidance and support in strategic planning and reporting to all departmental heads and managers.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and other executive team members to identify opportunities for partnership, growth, innovation, and operational excellence in accordance with the Fund’s strategy.
  • Lead in driving key strategic initiatives as they arise, including addressing any identified gaps during strategy implementation.
  • Aid in the management of crucial external and internal stakeholders, such as Government entities, the Board, the Executive Committee, portfolio companies, and partners, by drafting communications, strategic documents, presentations, and conducting analyses.
  • Contribute to determining the CEO’s and organizational priorities, ensuring alignment of the CEO’s time, itinerary, schedule, and efforts with these priorities
  • Facilitate decision-making within the Fund by undertaking research, gathering information and providing insights on critical issues.
  • Manage the CEO’s office and provide general administration and logistical support including spearheading initiatives such as goal setting, planning leadership team meetings, and company-wide gatherings.
  • Undertake project management activities including project planning, execution and milestone reporting to various project stakeholders.

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Economics, Business, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Masters’ Degree in the above fields is an advantage
Professional Experience & Skills

Experience:

  • At least three (3) years of experience in a fast-paced and dynamic environment in the following roles: strategy consulting, financial advisory, private equity, investment management
Technical Competencies:
  • Familiarity with the investment management industry
  • Demonstrated comprehension of client and country challenges and aspirations
  • Proficiency in financial modelling is preferred
  • Proficiency in report writing and preparation of presentation decks to suit various stakeholders
  • Demonstrated capability in documenting and articulating talking points, and briefs, with the ability to tailor content for diverse audiences
  • Aptitude for both qualitative and quantitative research, adept at distilling intricate information into coherent messages
  • Robust analytical skills and a penchant for data-driven problem-solving
  • Strong command of data analysis and visualisation Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau and PowerBI
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Dedication to economic development and impact in Rwanda with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Extensive prior experience collaborating closely with organizational leadership or senior management
  • Proficiency and knowledge of French is an added advantage
