About The Job

The Finance & Operations Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization. The ideal candidate will ensure that the organization meets its financial and operational goals while complying with all regulatory requirements. This position requires strong leadership skills, financial acumen, and a deep understanding of NGO operations.

Specific Skills
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance and operations, preferably within an NGO or non-profit environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and accounting principles.
  • Proven experience with operational systems, logistics, and human resources management.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Office (particularly Excel).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with donor reporting and grant management is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities & Duties

Financial Management

  • Oversee the NGO’s financial planning and budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
  • Manage cash flow, accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and donor requirements.
  • Monitor financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage audit processes.

Operations Management

  • Lead day-to-day operations to ensure smooth functioning of the organization.
  • Implement and improve operational systems, processes, and policies in support of the NGO’s mission.
  • Oversee procurement, logistics, and office management, ensuring resources are used efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to operations.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs to assess the effectiveness of operations and implement improvements.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree would be an added advantage)
  • CPA or ACCA
