Tractafric Equipment has been an exclusive distributor of Caterpillar equipment for over 85 years across 10 countries in Africa (Burundi, Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Morocco, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, and Chad). As a market leader, Tractafric Equipment supplies a wide range of new, used, and rental equipment for various sectors: mining, construction, forestry, spare parts, industrial and marine engines, power plants, generators, and material handling equipment.

 

ROLE

The Marketing Assistant will serve as a support function between the MARKETING department at headquarters and the sales department of the subsidiary. Reporting to the General Manager, you will coordinate various areas essential for sharing and implementing manufacturer tools for marketing.

Specific Skills
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Marking or any related field
  • Good level of English and French.
  • Proficiency in Office software.
  • Knowledge of the Tractafric Equipment product catalog
  • Mastery of manufacturer order processes and related marketing tools.
  • Sales administration experience preferred.
Responsibilities & Duties
Market Study and Analysis
  • Organizing local reviews and monitoring/analyzing Market Share of Innovative and New Products and industry trends.
  • Monitoring competition, trends, and market prices by gathering information from the sales force, local interprofessional associations, and various local organizations (customs, control bodies, etc.).
  • Setting up local KPI dashboards (reporting for Commercial and Marketing Management).
  • Supporting the Group Marketing Department and the local Sales Department in defining commercial strategies (goal: improving our presence in target markets and our overall profitability together with the manufacturer).
  • Participating in the budgeting exercise for machine sales (Light Machinery, Heavy Machinery and Used Equipment.) and rentals (reviewing and challenging subsidiary budgets in support of the local Commercial Director).
Support/Animation of the Sales Force
  • Participating with the Marketing Department in designing, researching, and deploying sales support tools for the sales team.
  • Assisting the Commercial Director in tracking E-learning training.
  • Coordinating with CAT on ways to enhance our added value for clients.
  • Monitoring the deployment and local management of contests and other sales incentives (outside of the standard commission plan).
  • Managing the CAT Sales and Operations Planning process.
  • Organizing, in collaboration with the Marketing Department and the manufacturer, communication events to improve our local and international visibility (photoshoots, press articles, publications in specialized magazines).
  • Identifying, negotiating, implementing, managing, and executing the sales of all products.
 
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in International Trade, Export, Management.
