About The Job

As an Operational Planning and Resource Management professional, you will be a key contributor to the development and execution of our Country PPS strategic plans, goals, and KPIs. Working closely with the Supply/Master Planner, you will create and manage pack plans, optimizing the use of resources including people, machines, materials, and equipment. Your role will involve developing and implementing maintenance and cleaning schedules to meet company standards and ensuring compliance with FSSC systems and procedures.

Specific Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience as a Site Manager in Food Processing Plant
  • Good knowledge of packaging operations
  • Proven ability in defining and delivering and delivering continuous improvement initiatives (QCDSSM)
  • Previous experience of ERP systems an advantage
  • Excellent English and local language, written and spoken
  • Relevant continuous improvement qualifications advantageous
  • Previous experience in working/managing within a unionised environment
  • Understanding and knowledge of packing operations
  • Cross function/cross cultural team working
  • Proven ability in defining and delivering continuous improvement initiatives (QCDSSM)
  • Experience in FSSC 22000/ISO systems compliance
Responsibilities & Duties
OPERATIONAL PLANNING AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
  • Contribute to the development of Country PPS strategic plans, goals and KPI’s
  • Together with Supply/Master Planner in country, develop pack plans based on available sugar and site’s packing capacities and constraints
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the department’s planned maintenance and cleaning schedules, ensuring that agreed schedules are delivered according to plan and company standards
  • Manage and control Packing and Warehouse resources (people, machines, material, equipment), ensuring best utilisation of resources to deliver the agreed packing plan
STANDARDS AND TARGETS
  • Together with the team, drive the planning of shift, daily, weekly, monthly performance targets against business/operational goals, including forward planning of resources to run the Packing and Warehouse Operation (3 – 6 months ahead)
  • Identify and monitor KPIs to track performance and flag any issues
  • Achieve Planned vs Actual (PvA) and Variance against Plan (VAP)
  • Manage the setting and monitoring of Packing and Warehousing standards
  • Adhere to and promote the relevant group MOPS & TOPS guidelines, as well as SOP’s for the SPO.
  • Manage compliance to FSSC systems, processes, procedures and standards
OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
  • Manage health and safety issues in line with “duty of care” responsibilities and Company standards by constantly promoting a safe working environment
  • Drive operational excellence by ensuring quality packing and warehousing in accordance with the Company’s Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and standards and compliance to the Quality Management System
  • Manage the day-to day activities of Maintenance personnel
  • Manage agreed aspects of plant commissioning
  • Ensure that effective communication processes are in place and aligned to company standards e.g. start of shift meetings, team briefings, internal/external stakeholder briefings
  • Build and maintain or oversee relationships with key stakeholders and 3rd party suppliers
  • Be the out of hours primary contact for the packing station with site responsibility in the event of a major incident occurring within the facility
  • Report on performance and key adverse or positive developments to Country and Group Functional Heads
OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE OPTIMISATION
  • Identify loss/waste/barriers to flow areas and prioritise weekly activities to address these, to ensure that improvements are made
  • Drive continuous improvement activities on behalf of your teams by utilizing and influencing internal and external stakeholders across departments by monitoring, measuring and improving performance (QCDSSM)
BUDGETING AND FINANCIAL CONTROL
  • Ensure that variable, fixed and labor costs are managed, controlled and utilized within agreed budget across the packing station
  • Contribute to the development of a business case for key capital projects, ensuring required outcomes are delivered on
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
  • Drive performance management by rewarding strong performance and compliance to critical behaviours, as well taking remedial action where required
  • Manage local employee relations and issues including local union representatives where appropriate
  • Build a strong leadership team and talent pipeline for SPO and Warehouse through ongoing coaching, mentoring and guidance.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering or any related field
