About The Job
As the Nurse, you will be required to assist customers by interpreting symptoms or to successfully refer customers to a suitable physician. You will also prepare pharmaceuticals by reviewing and interpreting physicians’ directives and detect any therapeutic incompatibilities.
Specific Skills
- Minimum of 2years of Professional Experience in a similar position
- Proven working experience as a nurse within a retail pharmacy
- Proficient in communication, interpersonal and organization skills
- Flexibility and Pro-activity
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- Good command of English, French and Kinyarwanda
Responsibilities & Duties
- Dispensing of pharmaceuticals to patients or medical practitioners; makes decisions regarding generic substitution of prescribed pharmaceuticals.
- Consults with patients and/or medical practitioners on drug indications/contraindications, dosage, drug interactions, and side effects; provides other drug and pharmaceutical information as appropriate.
- Establishes and maintains methods and manner of storage and recordkeeping systems to provide for safekeeping of pharmaceuticals.
- Ensure against unauthorized entry into the pharmacy's dispensing and compounding area and ensure appropriate security.
- Taking patient's histories as required; makes initial clinical assessments and refers patients to appropriate clinicians.
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- Working closely with the head Pharmacist to achieve goals and objectives.
- Driving pharmacy sales to achieve monthly sales targets.
- Achieving monthly sales targets
- Minimizing stock losses/ expired stock and shrinkage
- Minimizing expenses
- Store expansion and growth of our Pharmacy Retail footprint.
- Staff coaching & development.
Educational Requirements
- A1 Diploma in Nursing
