About The Job

The Financial & Regulatory Reporting Officer is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate generation of management accounting information across the bank. The role ensures compliance with regulatory reporting guidelines by preparing and submitting financial reports to regulatory agencies. The position is key in supporting the bank’s financial integrity, transparency, and adherence to all applicable financial laws and regulations.

 

Specific Skills
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting, regulatory reporting, or a related finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS) and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • High proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Responsibilities & Duties
  • Prepare and submit accurate financial reports to regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance with local and international financial regulations and standards. This includes Central Bank reporting, tax filings, and other statutory submissions.
  • Generate comprehensive and timely management accounting reports for internal use, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and variance analyses. Provide insights to senior management to support decision-making.
  • Ensure that all financial and regulatory reports are in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines. Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and adjust reporting processes accordingly.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial data and reporting by reconciling accounts and reviewing all financial documents before submission. Identify and correct discrepancies in financial reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of documents and reports required for internal and external audits. Work closely with auditors to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and address any issues raised during audits.
  • Monitor financial reporting risks and ensure adequate controls are in place to mitigate these risks. Work with the Risk and Compliance departments to ensure that all reporting activities meet the bank's risk management framework.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, tax authorities, and internal teams to ensure seamless communication and compliance. Act as the main point of contact for queries regarding financial and regulatory reports.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting processes. Implement new reporting tools or procedures to streamline reporting activities.
  • Oversee the use and maintenance of financial reporting systems and tools. Ensure that all systems are up-to-date and able to generate the required reports in a timely manner.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting on an ad-hoc basis as required by senior management, regulatory bodies, or other stakeholders.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
