About The Job

Singita is seeking a Reception Manager for their lodge in Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda. This role involves providing comprehensive service to the lodge, managing reception staff, overseeing lodge administration, and operating back office functions including switchboard and radio communication, all in accordance with Singita Standards of Excellence and SOPs.

Specific Skills
  • Relevant work experience in similar position and establishment, ideally with previous management experience
  • Experience in reception and switchboard duties
  • Excellent telephone and email etiquette
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet)
  • Developmental approach to staff management
  • High standard of service excellence and industry passion
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Maintain continuous communication with lodge operational teams to ensure guest needs are met and smooth lodge operations
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with tour operators, group handlers, and other partners
  • Coordinate flight and transfer logistics as needed
  • Liaise with head office regarding guest information, queries, and day sheet updates
  • Handle guest requests and ensure accurate, timely communication to relevant staff
  • Manage daily reception administration, banking, PMS systems, and guest database maintenance
  • Ensure guest and service areas remain clean, tidy, and properly organized
  • Manage and follow up on fault reporting
  • Allocate permits and stamps to relevant personnel as required
  • Manage and train lodge staff
  • Actively participate in and support Singita's conservation message and purpose
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
  • 3–5 years’ proven experience in a front office/reception supervisory or managerial role in the hospitality sector.
