About The Job

The Operational Excellence and HSE Officer is responsible for ensuring continuous improvement in operational performance while ensuring compliance with Hygiene, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards. The position holder will implement, monitor, and improve processes to optimize quality, reduce risks, and foster a culture of excellence and safety.

Specific Skills
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years in a similar role, ideally in industry, logistics, or equipment distribution.
Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methods (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, etc.).
  • Familiarity with HSE standards and regulations.
  • Experience in conducting audits and project management.
  • Data analysis and KPI monitoring skills.
Personal Qualities:
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Analytical mindset with a solution-oriented approach.
  • Leadership abilities and capacity to engage teams in best practices.
  • Autonomous and proactive.
  • Strong communication and teaching abilities.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Number and completion rate of continuous improvement projects
  • Adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Work-related incident/accident rate
  • Compliance rate with HSE regulations.
  • Improvement in key operational KPIs (quality, productivity, cost).
Responsibilities & Duties
  1. Operational Excellence:
    • Lead continuous improvement projects (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to optimize processes, reduce costs, and improve quality
    • Map, analyze, and improve internal processes (production, logistics, customer service, maintenance, etc.)
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), propose and implement corrective action plans.
    • Train and raise awareness among staff regarding best operational practices
    • Ensure proper documentation, standardization, and capitalization of best practices.
  2. Hygiene, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
    • Implement and maintain the HSE management system in compliance with regulations and company standards.
    • Perform and update risk analyses, preventive plans, and safety procedures.
    • Organize and monitor internal and external HSE inspections and audits.
    • Train and raise awareness among staff on HSE best practices and risk prevention.
    • Manage incidents/accidents: conduct investigations, analyze causes, recommend actions, and follow up on corrective measures.
    • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety legal and regulatory obligations.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3) to Master's degree (Bac+5) in Industrial Management, Engineering, Quality, HSE, or equivalent
